Do I need to create an account?
No. Browsing the programme, reading abstracts, saving talks, and downloading papers all work anonymously. An account is only needed to post questions or comments, rate a talk, or sync your saved talks across devices — sign in with ORCID, LinkedIn, Google, or an e-mail code.
Does the app work without internet?
Yes. After the first open, the full programme — sessions, abstracts, speakers, rooms — is stored on your device. You can browse everything offline; the app fetches only small updates when a connection is available.
I can't find my conference in the events list — why?
Events appear once the organizer publishes them. But if your conference runs on Indico or EasyChair, you don't have to wait: open HEPCon, paste the event's programme link, and a private preview builds in seconds. Like it? Share it with your organizing committee so they can publish it officially — free for small events. (Also make sure you're on the latest version of the app.)
What happens to my data?
Very little of it exists: you can use the app without an account, analytics are aggregated, and attendee data is never sold or used for advertising. Data is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany (Google Cloud, region europe-west3). See the Privacy Policy.
I attend several conferences that use HEPCon — do I need several apps?
No — that's the point. Install HEPCon once and every conference that runs on it is inside. Switch between your events any time from the Events screen; your saved talks stay with each event.
